Anniversaries

Married 60 Years Ago At Grantley

MORRISBURG-Mr. and Mrs. James Robinson, of Augusta St. , Morrisburg celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday Nov. 8.

Mrs. Robinson was the former Maud Meyers, of Grantley, Ont. They were married by Rev. Mr. Carmichael. Mrs. Robinson was a blacksmith. In 1915 they moved to the “White House” east of Morrisburg and later to “Edgehill”. At the time of the Seaway demolition, they came to Morrisburg, where they now reside.

Mr. and Mrs. Robinson raised a family of 14 children. Thirteen attended the anniversary celebration. One daughter, Velma Grace, died 34 years ago at the age of 21. They had 13 grandchildren and five great granchildren.

At home for the week-end were Jack from Clayton, Delaware; Tom and daughter Daena, from Hyannis, Mass., near Cape Cod; Lois and Hugh, Toronto; Lorne, Ottawa; Doreen(Mrs. Stone), Toronto; Daena(Mrs. Huddart) with sons Tim and Pat, Toronto; Ruth(Mrs.Jack Adlington), Mr. Adlington, Jimmy, Kathy and Timfi, St. Catharines; Evelyn(Mrs.Sutherland) and Mr. Sutherland, of Ottawa; Wallace and Mrs. Robinson, of Morrisburg; Hollis of Barrie; and Harold of Toronto.

Mrs. Robinson’s brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Myers all of Ottawa, were also present for the happy occasion.
