Couple Married 60 Years Ago
To honor Mr. and Mrs. George Cardiff who were married 60 years ago at Vars, more than 200 friends and relatives attended a reception held recently at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Cooper at Hammond.
The couple’s children and grandchildren were all present at the reception and for the occasion Mrs. Cardiff wore a black velvet dress with a corsage bouquet of red rosebuds.
Yellow chrysanthesums flanked by yellow tapers adorned the tea table and Mrs. and Mrs. Cardiff’s four granddaughters, Anita Cooper, Mona Cooper, Lorena Cardiff and Roberta Cardiff, assisted in serving.
Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cardiff of Hammond and their four children, Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Cooper of Hammond and their four children, Mrs. Malcolm Rae of Dunnsville amd Manford Cardiff of Lloydminster, Sask., Also Mrs. R.J. McLean of Winnipeg, Lt-Col. Jack Kinnaird of Halifax, Fred C. McLean of Hull, Dick Cardiff, Mrs. Lizzy Aldrich, Mr. and Mrs. Tom King and their thee children all of Augusta, On.
