On Tuesday, January 20, 2004, Brian (Barney as known by his friends) drove his last run.
Brian was born on December 18, 1956. For the past 20 years he was the husband and best friend of Eleanor Waldroff, and the loving father of Jason (of Crysler) and Melissa at home.
He was the brother of Patricia Aaron(John) of Morrisburg. Kenneth Hartle of Forrest, Ontario, Edith McKeon(Angus) of Avonmore, and Darlene Chymyez(Gene) of Brampton.
He was the loving son-in-law of Mary Waldroff of Newington and the late Howard Waldroff. He was predeceased by his parents Edson and Laura(nee Hartle) and his brother Ernest Hartle(Marilyn) of Johnstown.
Brian was employed for 17 years with A.L. Blair Construction and in 1999 he joined the team at H.F. Smith in Finch.
He was a loyal employee, and his co-workers quickly named him Barney. Little did they know at the time, that he had been given this nickname as a child by his sister Pat.
Brian truly loved his job and drove until the morning of his passing.
Visitation was held at Brownlee Funeral Home in Finch on Thursday, January 23, with a celebration of Brian’s life being held on January 24 at Brownlee Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bourgon officiated.
Pallbearers were Brian’s son Jason, Mike Thompson, Dwayne Smith, Ron Smith, Gordie Casselman and Butch Gratton, (all Barney’s buddies).
