Gary at the Cornwall General Hospital on Thursday, December 30, 1982. Gary Derle Empey of 116 Lottie Street; age 43 years. Beloved husband of the former Barbara St. John. Dear father of Greg, Sheldon, and Johnna Empey all at home. Dear son of the late Bruce Empey and the late Frances Franklin. Dear brother of Reginald Empey of Cornwall, Ian Empey of Toronto and Doreen (Mrs. Roger Choquette) of Ottawa. Predeceased by one brother William Empey formerly of Bourget, Ontario. Resting at the Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West from 2 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Monday, January 3, 1983 for Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral at 10 a.m. Rev. Robbert Pentinga of Knox- St. Paul’s United Church officiating. Internment in Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, Ontario. The family will be in attendance Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Gary Empey

A funeral service was held Jan. 3 from Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes- West Branch Memorial Chapel for Gary Derle Empey of 116 Lottie Street, who died Dec. 30 at the Cornwall General Hospital in his 43rd year. Service was officiated by Rev. Robbert Pentinga of Knox-St Paul’s United Church with spring internment in Hammond Cemetery.

Born in Bourget, Gary Derle Empey was the son of the late Bruce Empey and the former Frances Franklin. He is survived by his wife the former Barbara St. John; two sons Greg and Sheldon and one daughter, Johnna all at home; two brothers, Reginald Empey of Cornwall and Ian Empey of Toronto; one sister, Doreen (Mrs. Roger Choquette) of Ottawa. Predeceased by one brother, William Empey.

Mr. Empey was the former Produce Manager of Dominion Store.

Pallbearers were Brian McMillan, Ray Forget, Gerry Abele, Ray Shane, Todd Coughlan and Alan Mitchell.
